![]() Given the internet speeds available, we would be expecting to achieve between 10-14Mbps over the VPN link. If testing with iPerf over UDP, speeds test at around 1Mbps. Performing iPerf over TCP reliably shows speeds of around 3-4Mbps. This is evidenced by Windows 7 client PCs in the remote office accessing the file server (Windows Server 2012 R2) in head office where file transfers never get above ~4Mbps. The SSTP VPN connection however has been delivering very poor performance of around 4-5Mbps maximum. In both cases, online speeds tests (, ) show that the internet connections are performing as expected. The remote office (VPN client) has a 200/200 ethernet delivered fibre optic connection. The head office (VPN server) has a 100/15 ethernet delivered cable internet connection. This connection is working 'fine' but performance over the VPN is very poor considering the links between the two routers. I have a customer who has two RB1100AHx2 (PPC) routers with a SSTP VPN connection between the two.
